Warm Season Grasses
These grasses mostly prefer tropical, subtropical, and warm temperate climates. Some species are well adapted to semiarid regions within these climatic zones. They are usually short- or intermediate-day plants requiring warm nights and no vernalisation at the time of floral initiation. Carbon fixation in photosynthesis occurs principally through the C4 pathway.
