Aberlasting | White Clover
AberLasting is a unique clover blend that boosts soil health and animal performance while improving pasture resilience through its dual root system and strong nitrogen-fixing ability.
-
Combines the rapid establishment of white clover with the persistence of Caucasian clover
-
Enhances drought, cold, and grazing tolerance through stolons and rhizomes
-
Reduces the need for fertiliser by fixing and releasing nitrogen into the soil
-
Increases biodiversity, attracts pollinators, and supports sustainable production
A perennial legume, capable of very high production if fertility is high and moisture adequate. Its ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen makes a substantial contribution to the growth of companion grasses. It is very suited to irrigation and has a poor drought tolerance, making it of little use in low rainfall areas. However, a small amount is often added to pasture mixes in these drier areas in the hope it will survive in damp spots. White clover can also behave as an annual in drier areas, regenerating from seed when conditions are favorable. White clover uses stolons to expand the size of plants and put down new roots.
AberLasting
AberLasting is a unique clover variety designed to improve soil health, boost animal production, increase biodiversity, and reduce the need for fertiliser. It combines the fast-establishment trait of White Clover with the long-term persistence of Caucasian Clover, offering the best of both worlds. Its dual root system produces both above-ground stolons and below-ground rhizomes, enhancing the pasture’s ability to fix nitrogen, recover quickly after grazing, and thrive in challenging conditions.
Key features:
- Fixes and stores nitrogen, releasing it back into the soil for long-term fertility
- Maintains leaf-water content even under limited water availability
- High in protein and highly digestible for optimal livestock performance
- Exceptional drought and cold tolerance
- Helps reduce soil compaction
- Outstanding grazing tolerance with rapid regrowth after heavy use
- Adaptable to a wide range of climates and soil types
- Supports increased milk production and liveweight gain
- Attracts beneficial insects and pollinators, contributing to ecosystem health
