Announcement from Barenbrug South Africa

Steve Thompson has formally started on the 1st of June at our Mooi River branch and will be the new sales manager for the KwaZulu-Natal region. He will liaise with all our distributors and will be responsible for the market development. He comes with a wealth of experience in the seed industry as a whole and more specific some excellent knowledge of the seed industry in KwaZulu-Natal where he has been based for a number of years. His history of seed sales put him in good standing to give the BARENBRUG brand and our “yellow promise” even more momentum!!

We also employed Danie Martens who recently graduated from the University of Pretoria with a Master’s degree in pasture science. He is a very dedicated young man with a big interest in soil improvement and soil quality and can certainly contribute to the various challenges and new farming systems needed to improve pastures. He will be responsible for technical support in the region and will also assist farmers with not only support on pastures, but also Cover graze, cover cropping solutions as well as new introductions and concepts.

The third person that will start with us on the 1st of July will be Clive Stratford who originates from the Midlands and has an in depth knowledge of the region with both a scientific and economic background of pastures and dairy farming. His practical farming experience in the Midlands combined with his academic background will certainly be an asset to dairy farming and pasture management in KwaZulu-Natal in the future. He will also be responsible for technical support and sales in the region.

We believe with this balanced team we will give even more momentum to the role BARENBRUG play in supporting the farmers and our other clients in KwaZulu-Natal. Our mission remains to support our customers in the region with new innovative solutions for their farming systems.

Our PASSION FOR PASTURES will continue with the assistance of these three very enthusiastic men.

We wish them all of the best!!
